So, I recently popped the spare gearbox back into the familia.  Was a little sad to see it siting there doing not much whilst another vehicle was taking all the limelight.

But, there was a good reason.  A new event was to be run around the docks of Port Adelaide, and a class was also being created for vehicles who chose to run rally tyres.

I signed up a mate to run as naviguesser and entered.  On the day there were 125 entries.  Quite a large field for an event of this type.  Only problem was the course had been reduced from 6k to about 1.5k.  This put a few people off, as well as the track surface.  Lets just say it was more Euro Gravel spec than the usual baby smooth tarmac some of the exotics were used too.

The first couple of runs saw the motor ping quite badly.  Some timing modifications had it fixed.  The tune needs to be sorted after installing the Autronic after its refurbishment.

At the end of the day, we finished 45th overall and first in class E “Gravel Spec”  Not bad.  Now just waiting on the next installment of this type of event in 2015.  Will see if we can continue on our winning way.
